"After teaching riding and therapeutic riding for 30 years, you would think I would not need a riding instructor for myself. However, I had not ridden for 3 years due to a move to Arizona and COVID, and my rescue horse required a skilled rider. I was looking for an instructor who stressed safety, understood horse behavior and could reignite my latent skills. Fortunately, I found Theresa Green, who did all that and more. Theresa understood that my horse was difficult to ride, had been abused and needed patient instruction as much as I did. She recognized when I was the problem, and how to correct it, and she recognized when my horse needed understanding and patience. I have since referred several clients to her and have been more than pleased with the instruction she has given them. As a long time rider and horse owner, I’ve seen many types of instruction. Most instructors teach riding skills. Theresa goes beyond this, helping her students to understand the “why” of what you do, teaching her students to respect and understand the horse. Many instructors want you to be the boss of the horse. This works only up to a point. It doesn’t develop a relationship with the horse. Theresa teaches her students to partner with the horse, developing mutual respect between horse and rider. Only when this mutual respect exists can riding be as safe as possible. I also appreciate that Theresa continues to study and learn all of the latest research into horses and riding. A good teacher never stops learning. There are many good riding instructors out there. Theresa is not just a good instructor, she is an exceptional one."
